Well we're movin' on up to the Eastside!

It's that time of year again...the moving boxes, the packing tape, young boys juggling fragile heirlooms, the sore back, the cursing. We are moving back to our old 'hood Mount Pleasant! We are excited to be going back home to be amongst our people again. Old friends, new friends and the fabulous n' familiar haunts of Main Street. We should be in our new place by July 1st.

Reason #6027 why I adore my metal-lovin' huz Andy....
He hired a moving company consisting of a local speed metal band (!) in support of the dark arts. Ironically, the moving company is called "Tranquility Movers".

Elizabeth ROCKS!!!!

Last week the amazing Elizabeth made us all very proud. She was honoured with two (2)! very important awards from her school, Crofton House. The Citizenship Book Prize is awarded to students who demonstrate academic honesty, personal integrity and a caring concern for others, and who volunteer with no thought of personal reward. The Ellen K. Bryan Cup is awarded to the best all around student in Grade 10.

Elizabeth is an inspiration to us all!!!!

A perfect Father's Day.

Nothing says Father's Day like spending time with your wonderful family. Since the weather was so fantastic today, we figured that it would be best to take advantage of it. We started things off by doing some outdoor Go-Karting. Sadly, Liam was a little too young to ride in the 2-seater, but Ronan was able to head out for a bit.

Ronan loved it and wanted to keep riding all day. We'll be going back again some day soon I'm sure.

After racing around on a track, we decided to slow things down a bit and went for a hike in the woods. The recent rain left the forest green and lush and made for a beautiful walk.

Birds were chirping, squirrels were chattering and berries were starting to ripen. No blackberries or huckleberries yet, but salmonberries were there for the tasting.

I carried a sleeping Liam from the car to the trails and he slept in my arms for a while. When he awoke, he received some "good morning" kisses.

I sure love my family sooooo much and feel so lucky to have them in my life.

Graduation time.

It's hard to believe that last Friday was Ronan's last Preschool class ever. The next time he enters a classroom, it will be for Kindergarten. My little baby has gotten so big.

After his last class ended, they had a selection of yummy snacks for the children to nibble on and had art work on display from the kids. Shortly after, they had a fun, little graduation ceremony, where they sangs songs, wore grad caps and received diplomas. We were so proud of our wonderful lil' guy.

After the ceremony, we went outside to play in the playground for a while...and that was when Ronan noticed the guy teaching skateboarding. He asked if he could borrow a helmet and board and tried things out. He enjoyed it and wants to get his own skateboard.

We had a great time on Ronan's special day and look forward to a fantastic summer together... before the big guy starts Kindergarten and the lil' guy starts Preschool.

Happy Father's Day!

It's been 18 years since I was fortunate enough to wish my Dad a Happy Father's Day in person. I used to give him Old Spice every year and every year he would be genuinely thrilled to get it (because it was from me). He would actually wear it (!) and I can still hear that whistling Old Spice sea shanty theme song and smell that seadog scent from years ago...I sure miss my Dad. If you are lucky enough to have your Dad here today, make sure you give him a big hug and tell him how much he means to you.

Dads Rule. Here's Andy and his Dad before going out to dinner last night. Aren't they handsome?! Those Doucette genes really kick ass!

All in a day's work

Here is the battle wound of the day for poor wee Liam. Being a little brother sure can be a dangerous job. The boys were "rough-housing" on the couch and Liam got kicked off, hitting his face on the plastic crayon container. Ouch!

He refused the ice-pack, but did enjoy the triple chocolate ice-cream treat (hazzard pay).

Beautiful B.C.

The boys were lucky enough to spend the day with the gorgeous Mussellam girls today. We all started the day off complaining about the rain, but soon realized that the rain is why B.C. is so incredibly lush, green and gorgeous.

Yer popsicles or yer life!

When I came downstairs yesterday morning, the boys were dressed in their pirate attire enjoying their pistachio booty.

Here they are demanding popsicles. Argh!
