Sightseeing.
We decided to check out a few of the more touristy local spots in Wellington. The first one is the Wellington Botanic Gardens. It had a pretty rose garden and lots of large rolling hills, but wasn't very stroller friendly (some areas were only accessible by lots of stairs) and seemed to be mostly hills, so that didn't work well for the kids or our beast of a double stroller.
The second stop was Mt. Victoria, which is right in the middle of Wellington. We started off looking for a spot where they shot some of the first "Lord of the Rings" (I can't help it, I'm a nerd), but couldn't find it. We ended up at the top, which has a lookout where you can see 360 degrees of Wellington. It's an amazing view, but incredibly windy...surprise, surprise.
