The children were nestled all snug in their beds

....while visions of a really long nap danced in Mommy's head.

Well the boys are both napping at the same time, which is a rare and precious gift for me. Finally a chance to wrap those gifts for the boys. This has been a long week, especially for Ronan. After splitting open his forehead last Saturday, he came down with a bad cough and fever on Tuesday. His temp reached 102.9 Wednesday night! He is on the mend, and he hasn't lost his sense of humor. Yesterday afternoon, he awoke from a long, fever-induced nap and said, with all the seriousness he could muster, "Mama, I want to watch an adult movie. I have found that it is good for me." Before your dirty minds spin out of control, what he meant was a movie for grown-ups, not whatever it was that you were thinking.

Tuesday I was diagnosed with....Tennis Elbow! Sounds athletic, I know. It is a really painful condition that involves shooting pains up to my shoulder and down into my forarm. Since I do not play tennis (surprised?) I suspect it is from lifting my lovely, squirmy, hyper boys all day/ every day.

On a side-note, I saw another cool-looking Maori man with traditional full facial tattoos today. He was singing to his kids as he put them into their carseats. He had a great voice too. Andy and I have only seen a handful of them, but they definitely make an impression. We've also seen one Maori woman, a local jazz singer, with the old-school chin tattoos. These people are intense, intriguing and command your respect instantly. The tattoos are intricate, well-crafted and meaningful within their tribes. And did I mention they are on the face?!?! Dude. They put Northern Americans like us, with our silly, trendy tattoos to shame.
