A trip to the Wellington Zoo.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, so after breakfast we decided to check out the Wellington Zoo. It's laid out over rolling, green hills and is home to lots of exotic animals.

We were first greated by the playful antics of the otters.

Next up was Gibbon and Monkey Islands, home to, well....gibbons and monkeys.

Here was the fanciest bird that we've ever seen. It was a variety of quail.

Anyone fancy a little, black shag?

Here's Ronan on top of a domesticated, 700lb man-eating Kiwi bird. You don't want to meet one of those in the wild!!!

Liam and Lisa check out the lizards.

Ronan just loved the Zebras.

The zoo had these fantastic warning signs all over the park. They made us laugh.

Thank goodness that the lions were hanging out near the fence of their enclosure, because the tigers were nowhere to be seen.

The favorite animal with the boys were the ostriches. They would run up to the fence and stare at Ronan and Liam, much to their delight.

We rented a Mountain Buggy Urban Double for a few months to try it out. Lisa LOVES IT!!!!!!!

The kangeroos spent their time lounging in the shade, enjoying the wonderful spring breezes.

This was an exotic looking plant that Lisa thought was beautiful.

On the last part of our trip through the Zoo, we came to the cuddly part of our journey. First there was the Red Pandas, who were covered in the thickest, softest looking reddish fur. They looked closer to foxes and moved more like cats and weren't at all what we were expecting when we heard the word panda. Very, very cute though.

Last up were the Meerkats, who enjoyed frollicking and playing in the sun.

Soon, the boys tummy's started rumbling, so it was off to the Eva Dixon restaurant in the main Zoo building for some late lunch. Generally, food in places like Zoos are horrid, but here the food was surprisingly tasty.
