We're outta here....sorta. Update.

Well, we finally moved out of our place on John Street. We'll miss the street a lot, but not our landlords. As most of you already know, the landlord's daughter, who lived below us was a stripper/prostitute and a druggie and very inconsiderate. We wish we knew that before we moved in, but I'm sure the mother didn't want to advertise that. During the move-out process we finally got to deal with the mother/landlord first hand and she was a piece of work as well. First off, she's insane. We managed to get $500 of the $750 deposit back, but don't think we'll be seeing the rest after Lisa had a run in with her and called her "Crazy Lady". It feels really good to know that we won't be seeing that horrible family ever again.

We've been at the Holiday Inn on Broadway for the past few days and have been using that time to try and recoup a little. Lisa and myself are feeling pretty burnout after the past few intense days. Too much stress has taken it's toll on us. At 4:30am on our first night at the Holiday Inn, the fire alarm went off in the hotel. We quickly called down to the front desk to check and they told us it was for real. We dressed as fast as possible and rushed down 10 flights of stairs barefoot, while clutching our sleeping children. We waited out front in the cold fall air until the fire department said it was clear to return to our rooms. Jeez, the fun never stops. In the picture above, a very tired Lisa tries to keep it going, while a very energetic Ronan is perched on her shoulders. Today, we'll be moving again to a nice B & B with a seperate bedroom and our own kitchen...and for half the price of what we're paying now. This will be the last place we stay at in Canada before we leave. Due to even more delays, it looks like we'll be here until at least Oct. 5th. If our new place doesn't have internet access, this will be our last posting until we get to New Zealand.

We'd like to mention how much we've enjoyed spending time with all our wonderful friends and family here in Vancouver over the past 2 years. You've made our time here in this city very special and we'll sadly miss being so close to you. You will all be in our hearts and we're never more than a phone call or email...or a flight on Quantas away. :)

Lots of love...Andrew, Lisa, Ronan & Liam

jeez guys.. that so totally sucks. hope your next landlords are playing with a full deck.. and not a deck of prostitute/junkie either! I'm hoping things settle down and are smooth sailing for you all from now on.. you deserve it!
